Dr. Mirzaie and her project team improved the student experience by introducing the Hybrid-Flexible (HyFlex) instructional model in a large section of Economics 2001.01: Introduction to Microeconomics. The 600+ students in the lecture sections and 150 students in three recitation sections are now given the option to attend either in-person or via CarmenConnect. Additional opportunities to interact with the instructor are provided through a student response system. Lectures are captured for later student review. These changes in the delivery of material have been coupled with a collaborative effort to improve the online course presence and align it with the online material in other courses.
