New Faculty Information System is Live

The Office of Distance Education and eLearning (ODEE) launched Vita on April 3, opening up the new faculty information system to all instructional staff at The Ohio State University. Faculty and staff vetted and chose this new scholarly activity management platform, powered by Elements and enhanced with custom Ohio State functionality.

Faculty and staff will be able to edit and view their dossier using Vita. The service also allows users to download their dossiers in Word and create rich-text narratives to accompany their scholarly activity. Faculty and staff will experience a user-friendly interface with university branding, more robust web crawling for better publication searches, and more ways to evaluate the quality of research.

Visit vita.osu.edu to explore the new tool.

Vita is replacing Research in View (RIV), which is being retired by Thomson Reuters. Those eligible for promotion or tenure during the 2017 calendar year are welcome to continue using RIV knowing that support for the retiring system is limited. Learn more about Vita and RIV in the ODEE Resource Center.
