Student Tech Forum and Beyond

Technology changes quickly. In the past year alone we have increased web security with the introduction of multifactor authentication, brought Wi-Fi to parts of the oval and adopted our new Learning Management System(LMS), Canvas. All of these changes required buy-in from our campus community. Events like the Student Tech Forum help us identify new services and additions to existing tools to make tech at the university even more effective for all users.

We want to extend a big thank-you to all who attended the 2016 Student Tech Forum. The event provided us valuable insights into the changing role of technology on campus.

But we’re not done yet. As announced at the forum, we will be conducting a series of five focus groups throughout fall and spring semester. These meetings will invite 8-person groups to share their opinions about a specific technology service (say Canvas) with OCIO and ODEE leadership. In exchange for their time and thoughtful input, each participant will receive a $25 Visa gift card. Sign-ups for our first round of focus groups will be released in early November and all Ohio State students are welcome to participate.
