Office 365 Distribution Lists Back Online!
UPDATE: As of 11/9/18, the remediation steps for the Office 365 have been completed and all groups have been restored based on the most current data available to us. Because this outage provided a significant window in which lists could become out of sync with our last available data, we highly encourage list owners validate the membership of their groups and update if necessary.
During a recent upgrade of Office 365, student Buckeyemail accounts included in email distribution groups were inadvertently removed. Any emails sent to distribution groups will not be delivered to those missing group members. Emails sent directly to students will be delivered.
Additionally, group owners are currently unable to manage distribution groups in Office 365. Attempting to add or remove individuals from groups results in an error.
We are currently working with Microsoft to correct this issue and anticipate the system will be restored within 7-10 days. We recommend directly emailing students rather than relying on distribution groups until this issue is resolved.
This DOES NOT affect listservs created at the university (firstname.lastname@example.org) or class distribution lists created within Carmen.
