Non-approved MS Teams Apps Removed as of Dec. 20

On Dec. 20, the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) will disable unapproved Microsoft Teams add-ins until they have been through a required legal and risk assessment. The list of apps being removed includes Calendar BOT, Evernote, Freehand, ProjectWise, and RememberThis. Note: The apps may still be accessible directly, just not from within MS Teams.

To enable add-ins, a required risk assessment needs to be completed and legal terms and conditions need to be approved. Each add-in within the Microsoft store has its own terms and conditions and before starting the risk assessment those need to be approved by both Ohio State Legal and Purchasing. If this add-in still has a business use case and justification, please work with your Security Coordinator to get the legal and risk process started.

There are other plug-ins that have been approved that could be an alternative to the requested add-in that can be found in the OCIO Microsoft 365 service page (microsoft365.osu.edu).

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact CIO-infrastructure-risk-mgmt@osu.edu.
