Quality Matters Grants

From 2012-2020, Ohio State offered grant opportunities for faculty and staff to complete workshops and certification courses from Quality Matters (QM), a peer-review process designed to ensure quality design and continuous improvement of online and hybrid courses.

  • Enhance the student experience at Ohio State
  • Advance Ohio State instructors’ skills in quality online course design
  • Create local QM expertise and community
  • Support a common language at Ohio State around online and hybrid course design

About Quality Matters

Quality Matters (QM) is an inter-institutional organization that sets baseline research-based standards to ensure quality design for online and hybrid courses.  The QM Rubric is based on national standards and best practices, research literature, and instructional design principles. The rubric has a set of eight general standards, with specific criteria under each:

  5. Learner Interaction and Engagement
  6. Course Technology
  7. Learner Support
  8. Accessibility
