State Authorization Webpage for University Programs

The university-wide Out-of-State Educational Activities Policy, previously called the State Authorization Policy, is on track for implementation December 1. To ensure smooth implementation of policy requirements, the State Authorization Team developed a website to go along with the new policy.

The new state authorization website houses information for all programs at The Ohio State University that participate in educational activities triggering a physical presence outside Ohio. These activities may include online courses, advertising, recruiting, internships, clinicals, and operating at a physical location outside Ohio.

To access the new state authorization website, you must login with your Ohio State username and password. After login, you can view up-to-date state authorization news and reporting materials, such as:

  • Approval maps
  • Informational video
  • FAQs
  • Reporting information
  • Educational resources
  • Consumer information
  • Upcoming events and registration information
  • Contact information
  • Web portal

The web portal will be used by colleges and units to report trigger activities, request consultations with the State Authorization Team, submit approval documentation, and report out-of-state student placements as required by the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA).

Note: the information on the new website is separate from the information on the Ohio State Online programs page. The information on the Ohio State Online website is directed to current and potential online students interested in learning more about state authorization approvals.
