University-Configured Amazon Web Services
- On demand delivery of computing power, databases, storage, applications and other IT resources.
- Access to secure, reliable, flexible, and scalable resources that enhance cloud computing, web hosting and data storage.
- Alignment with university security and purchasing policies, and safeguards for intellectual property.
- Integration with university systems (e.g. name.n authentication, erequest).
We anticipate that OSU-configured AWS services will available in late fall of 2018. Over the next several months, we will be implementing security and account management, defining billing processes and developing training and resources for users. We also will be working to transfer existing faculty and staff AWS accounts to the university account.
Although you can do a lot with Amazon Web Services, please be aware that at this time you cannot store or use Personal Health Information (PHI) with AWS services. We plan to pursue this in the future.
Additional information about this exciting new service will be shared as it becomes available. In the interim, if you are not yet familiar with AWS, watch this introductory video to learn more.
