Canvas Integrations for Spring Semester 2017

You’ve likely adopted the Canvas LMS for your spring courses, but did you know how much more you have access to in the new system? Canvas came with apps already built in, and we’ve been integrating even more for a seamless experience of added functionality. For example, you can host videos in Mediasite and easily include them in course modules; you can use LockDown Browser for online quizzes without leaving the Canvas interface; you can utilize the anti-plagiarism software, Turnitin, to help you review Canvas Assignment submissions; and so much more!

These are integrations that already came with the Canvas LMS:

  • Conferences (BigBlueButton) *
  • Crocodoc (SpeedGrader) *

The following apps are also available to use for spring semester 2017 courses, and those with an asterisk (*) include support and training from OCIO and ODEE:

  • BuckeyeBox  *
  • Cengage MindLinks
  • LockDown Browser *
  • Macmillan
  • McGraw-Hill Campus
  • McGraw-Hill Connect
  • Mediasite *
  • Pearson MyLab Plus and Grade Sync
  • SoftChalk
  • Turnitin - new and improved Feedback Studio *

The integration for Top Hat should also be available in January 2017.

Even more apps are being considered, and many are currently undergoing security review before being installed in the LMS. Stay tuned on whether or not the following will be integrated for use in future semesters:

  • ExamSoft
  • Perusall
  • Qualtrics
  • WileyPLUS
